Briggs and Stratton now labels their engines according to:
What does this mean for you?
If you are replacing an engine that was labeled by horsepower it can be confusing.
Below is a chart of the new labeling system and translation to horsepower.
For example the 400 Series makes at least 4.0 ft lbs of torque, the 500 series 5.0 ft lbs of torque etc.
